An A-frame outreach
type Launch & Recovery System (LARS) with an extension which adds up to
another metre of reach and allows vertical lift of the Tether Management
System (TMS) and Remotely Operated vehicle (ROV) from the skid base
giving a total of 4m outreach.
The LARS is
designed to launch the ROV off a ship or oil & gas platform.
The combination of
extending A-frame and snubber rotator enables the TMS and ROV to be
picked up directly off the deck and extended outwards and into the water
improving the safety of personnel in all stages of launch.
