The new Mk 4 Slewing Crane LARS developed to launch in a small space on mid deck
Suits Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV) the Saab Seaeye Cougar-XT and Sub-Atlantic Mohican & Mohawk.
MK4 Slewing Crane LARS
The LARS is designed to launch the ROV off a ship or oil & gas platform from a mid-deck. The combination of extending arm & slewing enables the Tether Management System (TMS) and ROV to sit to the side of the LARS and be launched without the need for a large overhead clearance.
The Slewing Crane LARS has rating options of Safe Area, Zone 2 or ATEX for areas where hazardous explosive atmospheres may be present, often required by the oil & gas industry.
Capacity at present is 1600m x 31mm diameter armoured umbilical. Larger capabilities available on request.
